Petra Collins (I)

It is truly rare that one can encapsulate all that a teenage girl may be feeling or embodying throughout their growing years in just one photograph; yet Petra Collins has the ability to do just that, and because of this extraordinary gift, her pictures have spoken volumes to teenage girls worldwide and the art community. Although the messages given off can be rather dark and heavy, the photographic presentation is often light, airy, and ethereal - definitely some vibes I sense from summer. Together, the images tell a story as though they were stills from a film; however, what is most unbelievable is each images ability to stand alone and still project a powerful message onto its viewer. With her numerous collections, I have chosen to craft more than just a single post to express the exquisite work of Petra Collins.
